In the mid 19th century, Ramkrishna Paramhans set out to revitalize Vedic philosophy and principles amongst the people of India. Following in his steps, the Ramkrishna Mission, Rajkot, located on a serene campus offers a value based education, has a public library and an Ayurvedic center, plus guest house and a permanent exhibition showcasing the life of Shri Ramkrishna Paramhans.

=>A free library and a reading room with 39,514 books and 283 newspapers and periodicals.
=> A charitable dispensary with ayurvedic, homoeopathic and eye sections, as well as a physiotherapy centre with special facilities for the treatment of cerebral palsy children. Total 77,680 cases were treated and 2895 eye-patients were operated on in eye-camps during the year. A mobile medical unit which treated 2869 patients from 15 villages.

A cultural unit, named Vivekananda Institute of Value Education and Culture (VIVEC), which conducted retreats, career guidance seminars, and programmes like value education classes, summer camps, yoga classes, competitions for students and teachers. 10,950 people were benefited.
=> Rural development work by way of conducting free medical camps (general and eye), free tailoring and embroidery classes (95 women), balak sanghas (135 children), and welfare activities like distributing food and educational aids to poor students, ration kits, blankets and and so on to the needy.
